BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Mark Chapman’s wife Sara passed away at the age of 44 on Wednesday after battling a “long illness”, according to sources. The 46-year-old is said to be “absolutely devastated”.
Express.co.uk have contacted a representative for Mark Chapman for comment.
Mark and Sara, who share three children aged 17, 12, and six together, married in 2000.
Sources told The Sun: “Sadly Sara passed away on June 3.
“Mark and the kids are absolutely devastated,” they continued.
“The family was there and it’s just a really sad situation.
They said: “They’re an extremely private family and would appreciate people respecting that.”
Mark, who presents BBC Radio 5 Live, is known as Chappers and currently hosts Match of the Day 2 on BBC 2.
The presenter and father-of-three also often hosts Final Score.
